We already went over the benefits of grad school outside of America, with one benefit being that it's a lot cheaper. However, cheaper doesn't always mean free. A lot of the time, schooling plus living expenses are going to cost you at least $20,000. Some of you may already have that squirreled away in your bank account, but some of you may not.

If you're one of those who don't, there are still options for you to fund your schooling. Today, I'm going to be talking to you about help from the US government. If you're a US citizen, you can get some help from the government. If you also needed financial assistance during your undergraduate career, you may have applied for FAFSA. So can you do the same for your postgraduate degree?

Unfortunately, the short answer is no. For those of us who are going to school outside the USA, you cannot receive FAFSA grants to help fund schooling. However, there still is an option for us: government student loans. (Groan.)

Well, it's better than nothing. And much better than taking out a student loan with a private lending company. There are numerous benefits that I'll go over later on for taking out a government-backed student loan as opposed to one from a credit card or private loan company. Check back for that, as well as how to apply for a government loan, and if your school even qualifies (because not all do).
